Weekend Chores – Behind Schedule

We’re behind in planting out. And, as it turns out, that’s a good thing. We had a late frost this week. Also last night we were at a meeting and someone has expressed interest in bartering large amounts of produce from us, so by not planting out it gives me a chance to rearrange some things so I can plant out more of some vegetables and less of others.

Tom is probably going turkey hunting on Saturday. This will be his first time hunting. I’m so excited for him even if he doesn’t bag a big tom turkey. That leaves me on my own for at least Saturday. I will probably go out to the Peoples’ Garden and discuss with them what more they need for their irrigation system. I’ve also got some plans in the works for teaching a rabbit class so I’ll have a conference call about that. Exciting!

Speaking of the Peoples’ Garden, they are going to be having a fundraiser and their Grand Opening the same day as our potluck, April 30th from 9am – 1pm. If you’re interested in more information and you’re on Facebook, you can RSVP here. I believe tickets will be $20 and it includes a breakfast, gardening workshops and music. Stay tuned for more information.
