There are lots of great events coming up this month!
Biofuel Oasis is starting up their urban homesteading classes for the season. They are teaching classes on the subjects of beekeeping, chickens,goats, urban fruit trees, olive curing, and rabbits (taught by Esperanza from Pluck and Feather).
The Institute of Urban Homesteading has some great classes coming up this month. The available class topics includes Fruit Tree Care, Intentional Communities, Home Coffee Roasting, Soapmaking, Lacto-Fermentation, Beekeeping, Cheesemaking, and Canning Fruits and Tomatoes. 18 reasons will be a hosting ice cream social, a farm tour, and classes on cheesemaking and cocktails. They have other upcoming classes in September that you can check out through their website.
Also on September 17th, Forage SF will be hosting a San Francisco Wild Seafood tour. They will also be doing Wild Food Walks (Plants) on September 10th, 11th and the 25th.
September 13th though the 15th the National Heirloom Exposition is coming to Santa Rosa.
September 23rd through the 25th is the Eat Real Festival at Jack London Square. I’ll be there with the East Bay Urban Agriculture Alliance and I’ll be judging the honey competition.
Farmegeddon will be playing at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco from September 23rd to the 29th.

I have a shift representing Sonoma Beekeepers at the Heirloom Festival– too bad it isn't over a weekend, it is supposed to be an amazing event!
Wow! Such grat events happening out your way. I wish I were out there for a class or two. We have some things going on here in Milwaukee. We now have three intentional communities– an ecovillage, a yoga community and an artist community. I just blogged about the latter:
